Safety Auditing

A safety audit is a systematic review carried out to check whether an organisation is managing its health and safety satisfactorily, and whether it has a safety management system in place.  The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance Document 'Successful Health and Safety Management' (HSG65) recommends that audits are undertaken annually to assist organisations to focus their resources in the areas of most need.

Carrying out an audit of an organisation is a good starting point and will show exactly if your performance is up to standard, and it can also be used as a benchmark to help form a company health and safety plan.  It will also assist in areas that need updating in order to comply with legislation, and help to improve the safety culture and raise the standards.
